Huge Congratulations to Tim.
Dr Michael Dixon, Chairman of the College of Medicine paid tribute to Tim’s amazing work.
I wanted to sincerely thank you for your unfaltering hard work, dedication and enthusiasm in everything you have done for the College of Medicine over the last couple of years. Without people like you we simply wouldn’t have been able to deliver what we have. I am so impressed and grateful that you have made such significant efforts alongside your demanding full time nursing studies.
Since you started on the Student Strategy Group in January 2015 you have really led by example and been an inspirational figure in this group. You have been a fantastic representative for us at many events – volunteering the joint Arts and Aesop/CoM conference, scribing at the Social Prescribing Network conference, and being our student representative at the launch of the Social Prescribing Network in March at the House of Commons. We are also very grateful for the efforts and enthusiasm you have put in behind the scenes, in making a fantastic reflective video for our website based on your experiences visiting the Bromley by Bow centre, and your coordination of the 26 speakers from different parts of the UK and abroad at our first food conference. You were extremely well organised, polite and enthusiastic, and your intelligent management of the speakers enabled the event to run smoothly.
On behalf of the College I would therefore like to recognise your significant contribution by naming you the College of Medicine Student of Year 2016. I hope this will also act as an inspiration to other students who may wish to become further involved with the College.
My sincere thanks for your hard work and congratulations on this well-deserved award.
Best wishes
Michael
