Cyril Chantler MD FRCP FRCPH FmedSci is the Chair of University College London Partners, which brings together world-class medical researchers and clinicians from UCL and four NHS hospital trusts, leading research that is driven by patients and their needs. He is immediate past Chair of the King’s Fund and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Sir Cyril is also an adviser to the Associate Parliamentary Health Group; a trustee of the British Kidney Patient Association; and a member of the public sector advisory panel of Doctors.net.uk. Sir Cyril was previously Dean of the Guy’s, King’s College and St Thomas’ Hospitals’ Medical and Dental School, where he was the Children Nationwide Medical Research Fund Professor of Paediatric Nephrology until his retirement in 2000. He is a former President of the British Association of Medical Managers and Chair of the Council of Heads of UK Medical Schools and Faculties. He was also Chair of the Standards Committee of the General Medical Council until 2003.
