Peter Hain MP MPhil is MP for the South Wales Valley of Neath. He is the former Secretary of State for Wales, Leader of the Commons, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and Secretary of State for the Department of Work and Pensions between.

His latest book, a biography of Nelson Mandela, was published in September 2010 by Spruce. He was described as ‘South Africa’s Public Enemy Number One’ for his work as an anti-apartheid campaigner in the 1970s. He is the author or editor of fifteen other books and has written widely in pamphlets and articles on Labour policy and socialist ideology.
