The College of Medicine is sorry to hear of the death of Jan Leach, a former member of our Governing Council. We have received the following message from her family, who invite those who knew her to attend a memorial service.
“We are deeply saddened to inform you of the loss of our dearest friend, mother, wife and sister, Janine Leach, in the early hours of Tuesday morning. As many of you are aware, over the last year and a half Jan has lived with cancer showing the incredible bravery, spirit and determination she has demonstrated throughout her life, whether riding wild horses, in her work or at home.
We invite you to join us to celebrate her life on Friday 1st July at 2pm at St Dunstan’s Church, Ashurst Wood.”

Both hospices are charities and have been hugely generous in their support of Jan and the family and we would be grateful to have an opportunity to support them in return.

By Car: Ashurst Wood is located next to the A22 between East Grinstead and Forest Row, parking is limited but there is usually some available on Hammerwood Road and in the car park of John Pears playing field on Wall Hill Road.
By public transport: the nearest train station to Ashurst Wood is East Grinstead, there are local buses but they are not that reliable so we would recommend you book a taxi from the railway station. Here are a few taxi numbers if you need them:
