Changing the conversation about health

What people said about our Food conference

carrie-3Our June 2016 conference on ‘Food. The forgotten Medicine’ was a sellout, and dozens of delegates wrote to praise its groundbreaking content.  Below, you can read what just a few of the participants and attendees had to say.

We are planning a second conference for September 14th 2017 at the Royal Society of Medicine – more details coming shortly. Sign up here to express an interest and receive emails as the programme emerges.

“This conference was brilliant. It was truly holistic. Of all the medical conferences I have been to in the US, Europe and Asia over the years this was perfection in organisation, speakers, presentations, location and the food (I wish the recipes for the food had been provided as well….perhaps you could offer these now to attendees for a fee).  I hope that there will be follow up meetings as this really was a ‘tipping point’ event. The interpretation of medicine and healthcare are undergoing re- definition and this movement is taking off at last.” Maire Smith

I just want to say a huge thank you for what was the best conference I have ever attended.

“I just want to say a huge thank you for what was the best conference I have ever attended. I have organised and chaired a fair few conferences in my time, and yours was absolutely perfect.  I seriously could not fault it! I am heading back to Manchester fully inspired and very much looking forward to the next one. Thank you again for organising such an important and inspiring event.” Richard Johnson

“I just wanted to say quickly what an amazing conference you put on yesterday with a non-stop volley of top-rate speakers. I returned home announcing immediate changes to our family diet (!!!) and incredulous that – given the body of hard evidence – nutrition is so often ignored or an afterthought in disease prevention/ management.” Lisa Thomlinson

“Please keep me in the loop re the consensus statement and the consensus nutritional advice – we need to keep repeating the messages over and again, but get the food industry and politicians on board as much as the NHS. The message that as many half of all prescriptions (and much chronic disease) could be prevented by good diet (and exercise) is very powerful. And you had some great examples of enablers who need more support and funding to expand their great care to all who need it.  Dr Phil Hammond (who kindly Chaired the conference)

“The feedback I got from people, many of whom are doctors, was that it was excellent and that it made them change their practice! What more can one ask.  Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak.” Dr Eleni Tsiompanou (speaker)
