Dr Eleni Tsiompanou Eleni is Consultant in Palliative Medicine at Pembridge Palliative Care Centre, Central London Community Healthcare Trust is the founder of the Health-Being Institute (healthbeing.co.uk). As part of Eleni’s Master’s Degree in Nutritional Medicine at the University of Surrey, her specialist thesis was on ‘Food as Medicine: from Hippocrates to Modern Times’. She has a Diploma in Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Nutrition.
Here she describes what we can learn from the health practices of ancient Greece – making her starting point the 4th century BC temple where the doctor-god Aesclepius was worshipped and various herbs and healing interventions were practiced, including access to nature and even dancing.
