2014 Poster competition

studentsAs in previous years, we will be running a peer-reviewed poster competition at the Summer School this year and abstract submissions are now open!

The aim of this competition is to encourage students to present research/results from audits, projects and research projects relevant to resilience or self care (this can include health or social care professional, students, patients self care or resilience.

Poster prizes

Due to generous support Mr Michael Chowen, CoM member generous cash prizes will be offered for 1st (£150), 2nd (£100) and 3rd (£50) places.

All students who display a poster will be awarded a certificate for their portfolio.

Abstract submissions

To enter abstracts of 150 words (not full posters) should be sent to: students@collegeofmedicine.org.uk

Please ensure that abstracts fit the following format: The theme that the poster falls under

  • Context 
  • Methodology 
  • Outcomes 
  • Conclusions 
     
Submissions 

    Deadline: 5pm, 1st August 2014

    Please ensure that where relevant you have informed your supervisor that you will be entering the poster competition and that all authors are appropriately acknowledged.

    If your abstract is selected you’ll be invited to display your poster at the Summer School and to give a short oral presentation to the delegates during the lunch break on the first day. Please be prepared to answer questions about your research/poster as well. The posters will be judged on:

  • The quality of the research 
  • The quality of the presentation on the poster 
  • The quality of the spoken presentation

Please note you will be expected to print and bring your poster to the event.

Poster dimensions

 The final poster size should be A1. Due to the limited amount of display area only the best/most relevant posters will be selected.
