On a warm July evening The College of Medicine was delighted to host a presentation, in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales, to a cross section of politicians and key business leaders.
Sharing the platform were speakers Dr Barbara Vann and Dr James Fleming describing their innovative work of raising healthcare within communities, along with Kate Fismer and Eleanor Crossley discussing the colleges ground breaking approach to multi disciplinary education amongst health and social care students.
It was a glorious opportunity to showcase a selection of the positive approaches that are supported and nurtured by the College of Medicine and stimulate conversation between industry and politicians about what good can look like in the health care arena.
The response and interest was such that a smaller group have recently followed up the conversation at a lunchtime event to discuss how to support and develop the messages and practical outcomes the College stands for. The guests were welcomed by Dr Harry Brunjes and the session was chaired by the Chairman of the College, Dr Michael Dixon.
