Bursaries 2019

Below is the application form to apply for a bursary to the College’s Foundation Course at Dumfries House in Ayrshire on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th November 2019.  More information about the course is available here.

Please note that at present the bursary is available for medical students, junior doctors, GPs and GPs in training only who are looking to understand and undertake a wider role in enabling and motivating healthy eating in their localities for those that would benefit from it the most, particularly young people.  The bursary covers the cost of the ticket (+ admin fee) but does not cover any other costs such as travel, accommodation, or food other than that included in the ticket price.  Please be aware that Dumfries House is in a relatively remote location from most of the UK, so check travel/accommodation arrangements before applying.

The deadline for applications is the Thursday 7th November 2019 – successful applicants will be informed within seven days of this date. All those in receipt of a bursary will be required to pay a £25 admin charge when registering for the Foundation Course in order to secure their funded place.  Bookings must be made by Sunday 17th November 2019.

Bursary Form 2019
  • In 300 words or fewer summarise what the bursary would afford you in terms of the experience. Please place an emphasis on how this will have an IMPACT on individual consultations with patients and also enable you to understand and undertake a wider role in enabling and motivating healthy eating in your localities and the availability of healthy food for those that would benefit from it the most, particularly young people.
I certify that the above application is for my own attendance and will not be claimed from another body. I confirm that if I am successful in receiving a bursary for a funded place at my chosen event, I will provide the College with a short feedback report on healthy eating and how it will impact on my practice for those that need it the most. I also confirm that if I am successful in receiving a bursary for a funded place at my chosen event, I will then be happy participate in a virtual network of doctors with a particular interest in food and medicine and hope to develop leadership within this group in my locality and I will report back to the College of Medicine on progress.
