Introduction
Following our second annual Bodymind Faculty conference in November 2025, we were delighted with the expression of interest from College of Medicine colleagues to join our re-formed Bodymind Faculty Core Group. On behalf of the College and Faculty, our main aims are to promote bodymind thinking and practice.
Bodymind Faculty Core Group Members
Lisa Behzadi
Lisa is a holistic therapist and lifelong learner, trained in kinesiology, aromatherapy, acupuncture, and NADA/ Battlefield acupuncture. For five years working in a breast cancer support centre in King’s Cross, Lisa has supported people by taking a deeply holistic, bodymind approach while working alongside their conventional treatments. Her work connects physical symptoms with emotional healing, creating space for awareness, release, and balance. Passionate about empowerment, Lisa focuses on building practical toolkits and fostering connection, offering safe, restorative sessions that integrate multiple therapeutic modalities for individuals and communities in compassionate and collaborative care settings.

Louise Carmi
After Louise retired from working in NHS Community Nursing, management, and Children Safeguarding services, she began exploring Neuro-Linguistic Programming, hypnosis and was introduced to Havening Techniques in 2013, later becoming one of the first world-wide trainers in 2015.
As a member of the College’s Bodymind Faculty since its inception, Louise has enjoyed supporting the exploration and sharing understanding of the ‘integrative aspects’ of health to improve wellbeing via the College. Louise’s long-term interest in global development issues, has resulted in her being a board member of several charitable organisations, actively involved in fundraising and campaigning and on the ground programme support overseas.

Dr Mark E.W. Chambers
I am a retired GP, now practicing as an Integrated Health Care Practitioner and Generative and Creative Mind Coach, incorporating Mind-Body Complementary Techniques including Mindfulness, Clinical Hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Thought Field Therapy, Havening and Reiki into my practice.
In 2012 I obtained a post-graduate Diploma in Medical Hypnosis. In the same year I was appointed a Fellow of the Royal College of GPs in acknowledgement of my work as a GP Trainer and my work in integrating Complementary Techniques into Primary Care and teaching. I am now involved in developing this integration through involvement with the Bodymind Faculty of the College.

Amanda King
Amanda King manages the day to day running of the College of Medicine, with a particular focus on membership engagement, communications, events, conferences and educational courses. She advocates for a world where medicine is not just about medication but focuses on helping people stay well and thrive, and supports the Bodymind Faculty because its work directly aligns with the College’s core mission to redefine healthcare beyond pills and procedures.

Dr Grace McGeoch
I’m a GP in North London with an interest in Creative Health for the Bodymind. In addition to my NHS work as a clinician, GP trainer and appraiser, I lead group singing and facilitate breathwork. I believe in using creativity and embodied approaches to make new meaning. Through these practices we improve our relationship with ourselves and the wider world.

Dr Simon Lewis
Simon leads the Bodymind Faculty Core Group for the College of Medicine. He is a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist working at University College London Hospitals focusing on young people with complex presentations. He led an adolescent inpatient psychiatric unit for 21 years.
Simon is passionate about the unity of the bodymind in his work and teaching; and how this approach can lead to more collaborative and compassionate doctor/patient relationships. Simon lectures and examines UCL Medical Students and has experience and training in psychotherapeutic, group and systemic approaches.
Simon is a collaborator for Sage Practices (www.sagepractices.org), The Cards: Being Human (www.thecards.org) and a Trustee for Global Generation, an environmental charity, a cyclist and photographer. Most important to Simon is his family.
