Changing the conversation about health

How we marked Social Prescribing Day 2024

Social Prescribing Day is an annual celebration of the people, organisations and communities who make social prescribing happen.

Since 2019, thousands of local and national organisations, link workers, medical professionals, academics and students have taken part across the country.

This year, more than ever, there was an amazing outpouring across social media on what social prescribing means to those who use it every day – and have been helped by it.

You can find out more about getting involved with social prescribing in your community via the Social Prescribing Network.

Our Chair, Dr Michael Dixon, wished everyone a happy Social Prescribing Day 2024 in a video address, saying: ‘It’s about bringing health and healing through better food, being more active, better relationships and contact and doing things that bring meaning and significance to people’s lives…’
